I greet all of you my brothers and sisters in Christ and wish you all a happy and blessed New Year. The Lord challenged us at the Watch Night Service to think about the importance of learning to really trust Him. Psalm 127 begins with the words that give us much to think about.
“Unless the Lord builds the house they labor in vain who build it, Unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman keeps awake in vain.” (Psalm 127:1)
It is my fervent prayer that the Lord will raise us to higher spiritual levels in our walk with and before the Him. In those areas in our lives where we feel defeated, intimidated, weak, incapable, helpless, frustrated, etc., we will seek victory by the hands of the Lord. That will only come by means of recognizing our need for Him and yielding to Him. We must pray more, study His word more often, apply His word to our lives, and yield to His will for our lives.
Let us all join in a journey of faith in 2007 as we seek to grow closer to the Lord and trust Him to bring blessings and deliverance in our lives, families, and communities.
Be blessed and a blessing to others.
In His Name,
Pastor Barnes
